New dental practice for Simons family in growing Warande

| | |

With a brand new dental practice under construction and a close-knit family team around her, dentist Meghan Simons (29) is at the start of a special new phase. Together with her parents, she will soon open a modern practice in the young Warande district. "Our dream was to offer all dental care under one roof. That is now going to happen," she says enthusiastically.

Meghan has now been a dentist for five years and works entirely in her parents' practice. Her becoming a dentist is no accident. "We really are a dental family," she laughs. "My father is a dentist, my mother is a dental hygienist and my sister is also a dentist." When the family moved to the Netherlands in the early 2000s and her father started a home practice, Meghan literally grew up among the treatment rooms.

After secondary school, Meghan was immediately admitted to study dentistry at ACTA in Amsterdam, the same university where her father also studied. She completed the course without delay and was allowed to call herself a dentist by the age of 24.

" "Our eye fell on a space under the new Buteo apartment complex at Wijkplein. We called immediately and then the ball started rolling." "

Larger space

The current practice in the Boeier neighbourhood is now bursting at the seams. Therefore, the family decided to look for a space for a second practice. They found it in the newly built Warande district. Warande was a logical choice because of its growing patient base. "It is a young growing neighbourhood. We therefore saw that many registrations of new patients came from that neighbourhood," Meghan explains.

All types of dental care

The new dental practice will be the main location, providing all types of dental care: from check-ups and cavity filling to root canal treatments, braces and cosmetic dentistry. In addition, the new location enables additional care. "Recently, I also started doing implantology, but I can't do that at the current location. At the practice in Warande, I will soon be able to offer that care," Meghan says.
What Meghan is most looking forward to is the extra space that will become available. "In the new building, we can make everything more efficient and spacious," she explains. "We will have separate staff areas, modern treatment rooms and a logical layout that we designed ourselves."

Tight-knit team

What doesn't change is the team. "We are a close-knit team, with a regular group of assistants who have worked with us for years. We are very careful about that and patients notice it too. They know everyone who works here. Our motto is that we always look at the person behind the mouth."

The first patients, both regular and new patients, are expected to be able to be received at the new location from 1 June. "With us, it is possible to register even before the new location opens. We have extended opening hours, which has created additional capacity." When everything will soon be ready, an open day will also be organised for local residents, although a date for this has yet to be decided. "We first want to make sure everything is completed on time and that we can receive patients," Meghan says with a laugh.
