First new-build homes Groot Nooten completed
"The housing shortage is still high, so every new home counts. With this project, we are helping dozens of households get a pleasant, affordable place to call home. We are extremely happy about that. "
Ronald Gouwerok, property manager at Centrada
Investing in a healthy living environment
The Groot Nooten project comprises a total of 70 spacious single-family homes. The houses are not only energy-efficient and comfortable, but also designed with a healthy living environment in mind. Each house, for instance, has deliberately chosen a green front garden fence, the storerooms have a sedum roof and all houses have three insect bricks. There are also solar panels on each house. All this contributes to improving biodiversity and a healthy and pleasant living environment.
Ronald Gouwerok emphasises the importance of projects like this. "With this new-build project, we show that affordable housing and sustainability can go hand in hand. We are not only investing in bricks, but also in the quality of life of both people and animals."
Meeting at the front door
Another striking element is the attention to social contact: all homes have a veranda at the front and a stone bench in the front garden. These elements invite to meet and enhance the neighbourhood feeling.
"Pleasant living is more than a roof over your head," says Ronald Gouwerok. "We want people to really feel at home in this new neighbourhood. A neighbourhood where neighbours know each other and look after each other is invaluable. That's why we deliberately made choices during construction that should help strengthen the neighbourhood feeling."
