Construction starts on Het Eiland in Warande

Het Eiland project officially launched with laying the first stone

On Thursday 17 July, the start construction of project 'Het Eiland' was festively celebrated. Alderman Dennis Grimbergen of Lelystad municipality laid the first bricks together with the young future residents. Under the watchful eye of the future residents and companies involved, the kim blocks were laid in a thick layer of mortar. With a little help, the blocks ended up laying neatly along the line.

Housing will be located on 3 headlands

Project Het Eiland is located on perhaps the most beautiful part of Warande; the 24 homes, developed by Nieuwbouw Advies Flevoland from Emmeloord and built by Van Pijkeren Woningbouw from Dalfsen, are built on three different headlands and all border the water. There is no lack of colour on Het Eiland either. Bright, fresh colours of red, yellow, blue and green will soon give this part of the neighbourhood a special appearance.

 

Beautiful colourful programme

Alderman Grimbergen has made building new homes a priority. There is also a housing shortage in Lelystad, so there will be a lot of building in the coming years. The councillor congratulated the buyers on their new home: "It is a beautiful colourful programme by the water, a unique piece of Warande." The alderman also emphasised the enthusiasm of the developer and construction company and their ambition. "Nice that also this last part of The Island is now being built on," he said.

Meanwhile, ground floor floors have been laid at 17 of the total 24 homes in the project. The first internal walls will be glued onto the bilge layer or bilge strip that has been built together with the children before the construction period. By the end of this year, these homes will be under the roof. The homes will be completed in mid-2026.
